A Week of Innovation: Canopy Robotics Camp’s Triumph
In the heart of summer, Canopy’s Robotics Camp thrived with its first week’s triumph. The young minds, elementary students, delved into the art of teamwork, communication, and analytical prowess through hands-on learning, guided by the deft hand of their instructor, Rhonda McRae.
Rhonda’s ingenious activities sparked the students’ curiosity. A simple task, like giving instructions for making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, became an intriguing coding lesson. As she acted out their instructions, the students quickly realized they needed to be more detailed (unscrew the lid, scoop the peanut butter out of the jar with a knife etc). After activities like these the students were able to apply these skills to their individual robots.
Eager and armed with new insights, the students ventured to build their own robots. In the crucible of collaboration, they etched unique codes and designs, preparing for the pinnacle of the week – the competition.
The crescendo of the week arrived, and the robotics arena witnessed the contest’s fervor. The challenge was to maneuver their robots skillfully, extracting eight cups from a circle, racing against time.
