A Community of Scholars!
Students supported by a community are more likely to ask questions, engage in learning, develop more confidence in the classroom and get better grades. Canopy students, tutors, parents and staff are working together, building a atrong, supportive community, empowering academic achievement for Canopy Scholars.
This fall, we’re excited to introduce The Story Project to you. Students and tutors will take the camera to tell stories of all that’s happening in this community of scholars. Our first story is led and narrated by Joachim, and filmed by Ebenezer, two stellar Canopy tutors. Enjoy!

A VIEW THAT ECHOES
by Olivia Magtaas, director of middle-school tutoring
When asked, “Why do you like coming to tutoring?” one student says simply, “They make academic learning fun!” This view echoes through our program – not because we’re reinventing the way math or homework is done. What truly makes learning fun is the community students build with each other and their tutors. These relationships create a positive learning environment where students feel seen and heard. These genuine connections keep students engaged, transforming homework into something they look forward to each day.
